New Paintings Up for Auction

August 29, 2026

Hi there!

I’m very excited to share that two new originals from my Brushstrokes in Time series, Passages and Witnesses, are now up for auction.

These works introduce a more intimate side of the series, where human presence, fleeting moments and memories emerge against the vast darkness of the cosmos.

They measure 30×40 cm, marking the first time I’m offering paintings of this size through my own auctions. They will be auctioned individually, with one closing shortly after the other.

The auction starts today, August 29 at 3pm UTC and closes Thursday, September 3 at 6pm UTC.

This release also marks a new chapter for something I started eight years ago.

When I first introduced Brushstrokes in Time in 2018, the series began with small 20×20 cm oil paintings and a simple idea: to paint fragments of Earth against the darkness of space, treating it almost like a blank canvas.

I began auctioning each of these paintings directly through Instagram, with the hope of eventually scattering these little brushstrokes all around the world. Since then, more than 90 have found new homes with collectors.

Now, for the first time, I’ll be hosting the auctions on their own dedicated site, powered by Indy.auction.

For those of you who have been bidding through Instagram over the years, the process should now be much easier. You can set a maximum bid and let the platform bid automatically for you, receive notifications when you’re outbid, and follow the auction without having to constantly refresh the comments. Last-minute bids also extend the closing time, giving everyone a fair chance to respond.

And, of course, you no longer need an Instagram account to take part. All you need to join the auction is an email address.

I’ve also put together a complete auction archive, where you can look back through the Miniature Collection and see the winning bids from previous auctions.

The Miniature Collection is where these auctions began, and I’m excited to expand them to include new formats as well.

As always, thank you so much for following my work and for being part of it over all these years.

Good luck bidding!

All the best,
David
